The Rheumatology Department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, spondyloarthropathy, systemic lupus erythematosus, and vasculitis.
A rheumatologist is also concerned with treatment of various diseases such as gout, which triggers intense pain; ankylosing spondylitis,
which evokes chronic inflammatory lower-back pain; and Behcet’s disease, which causes recurrent mucous ulcers and other symptoms.
The Rheumatology Department collaborates closely with orthopedics and rehabilitation medicine to improve its diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases.
